4 Budget Saving Tips to Spruce Up Your Wardrobe

Published by stealth2000 under Uncategorized Edit This

Most people who wear clothes want to project a certain image through their attire. Some may want to convey a classy  look; others an I don’t care how I look, look, but we all want our clothes to say something.

I am no fashion expert, but I am frequently complimented on my choice of clothes. I am not wealthy by any means, but instead I’m what you might consider a thrifty shopper. Now, when I say thrifty, I’m not referring to going from thrift shop to thrift shop looking for someone’s old clothes (though you really can find some tremendous deals there). I’m talking about real sale shopping.

When you do some real shopping, here are 4 budget saving tips to spruce up your wardrobe.

1. Be patient: I put this one first, because it is the most difficult to do. It is also the biggest reason for spending way too much money; the dreaded impulse buy. One thing that I keep in mind is that just about everything goes on sale. Most clothes that look good today will look even better tomorrow with a reduced price tag attached to it.

2. Shop around: Have you ever bought something, then saw it in another store at a fraction of the cost? We all have. When you shop around, this can help eliminate some of the anxiety you feel when this happens. Be sure to use the internet when you shop around.

3. Think about tomorrow: I don’t mean tomorrow literally, but think about the future when you shop. The thing about clearance sales is that they usually take place at the close or near the close of a season. For as long as I’ve been alive, those seasons come back around and when they stop coming around, clothes will be the least of your concern. Since they do, clearance sales are an excellent opportunity to get high valued items like coats and shoes for less to nothing.

4.  Know when to buy: You need to be able to recognize a sale when you see one. Sometimes in an effort to get a truly phenomenal sale, we will pass on a great deal, just to come back later and find that it has been sold. Understand the store that you are shopping at and how they mark down items. Some only go as low as 75% off, but Kohls for instance goes as much as 90% off.

Ultimately, you will determine what you are willing to pay for your wardrobe, but I hope that you keep some of these tips in mind, so that you can in the end save a substantial amount of money and still look good. Happy shopping.
